Camping Where to stay
The Riverside Festival is held on the meadows in the centre of Stamford, by the River Welland. For a map of the area, click here . Access to the site is from Bath Row on the north side, or Station Road from the south.

Local Train Services are operated by Cross Country Trains who once again are working in partnership with us to help travellers get to the festival. They will be providing additional carriages on their existing train services on festival days. Due to the high level of passengers using the station additional staff from both Cross Country Trains and East Midlands Trains who operate the station will be on duty along with staff from the British Transport Police. Train ticket checks will be in full operation throughout the festival and penalty fare tickets will be issued where necessary. Direct trains from Stamford operate towards Peterborough, Ely, March Cambridge and Stanstead Airport and in the opposite direction towards Oakham, Melton Mowbray, Leicester and ultimately through to Birmingham. Taxi: Taxi ranks are located in: Broad Street - operates 24 hours (except Fridays) St Mary's Hill (outside town hall) - operational 21.00 - 3.00 only Parking: Parking space is at a premium in the Town particularly on Festival Days and we would strongly encourage you to use public transport wherever possible. Unfortunately some of the main car parking space in the Town has to be closed to cars during the festival making the problem even worse. Based within the Stamford Arts Centre Foyer and with a stall at the festival site the centres professional and helpful staff will be available to offer advice and information to all our visitors. Whatever your budget they can provide information on where to stay in Stamford and the surrounding area including details of camp sites, caravans, hostels, bed and breakfast, guesthouses, farmhouses, hotels, inns, and self catering accommodation The Arts Centre Foyer office is open Monday to Saturday 9.30am – 5.00pm and Sundays 10.30am – 3.30pm during the summer months. The staff can also help with details of places to visit, where to eat, what’s on in the area and general information about our beautiful market town of Stamford and its history, they also have a range of maps and guides available to help you along the way. If you are coming in from the south or south west (A1/A43) follow the road over the town bridge and turn left at the London Inn. Then take the first left. If you are coming in from the north or west (A1/A606) follow the road into the centre of town and turn right at a right-angle bend by Ask restaurant and the London Inn. Then take the first left. If you are coming in from the west (from A47 Leicester) follow the road into the centre of the town (straight on at the roundabout) and then take the right fork by a green and the bus station. Then take the next right. If you are coming in from the east (A16) follow signs to London A1 south. When you get to some traffic lights by the river, turn right into the town. Follow the road and turn left by the London Inn, then take the first left. Vehicles may not be taken onto the site by any unauthorised person.
