The Riverside Festival has been the finale of the Stamford Festival for 30 years, originally titled Rock on the Rec and then Music on the Meadows. For the past 10 years it has been run as the Riverside Festival, and in 2007 it was registered as a not-for-profit Limited Company and Registered Charity.

Riverside is an open-air music festival which traditionally has been held annually on the first Saturday of July, on the meadows in Stamford, showcasing at least 30 bands and artists, usually more, mostly from the surrounding area, on at least 3 main stages - the Riverside Stage, the Marquee Stage and the Acoustic Stage.

But the Riverside Festival is not just about music. There are fairground rides; a variety of children's entertainment; food, craft and trade stalls; Stamford’s BIGGEST and BEST beer festival; and a SPECTACULAR fireworks finale.

For 2010, the Festival celebrates 10 years of its success and will spread over 2 days, with the Riverside Stage and Marquee Stage featuring on Saturday 3 July, and followed by a relaxed Sunday 4 July focusing on the Acoustic Stage, and a new version of the Riverside Stage looking back to its roots.

As a charity, we rely completely on sponsorship, advertising income and donations from the public. The festival is run entirely by volunteers, and we make no profit from it whatever.
